Avondale Place: Home-Like Respite Care in a Caring Community
Avondale Place is a purpose-built, four-bedroom home designed to provide short-term respite for people living with a disability. Officially opened in May 2023, it offers a warm, supportive, and inclusive environment where guests can feel safe, valued, and at ease. This much-needed facility was made possible through the vision and generosity of a local family who personally experienced the challenges of accessing adequate respite care. Their remarkable contribution of $1.5 million, combined with $500,000 from our local Bendigo Community Bank and over $100,000 raised by the community, turned this vision into a reality. Avondale Place is proudly governed by Henty Respite Trust Ltd, a registered not-for-profit charity. The Trust is committed to providing high-quality, affordable respite care for people with disabilities or those in need. Its mission is to ensure that individuals and families receive the support they deserve, close to home and community. Care services at Avondale Place are delivered in partnership with accredited NDIS providers, ensuring professional, person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
